Role Description
Job Description: Volunteer Director of HR Management

Position Type:  Volunteer (Unpaid)
Location:  Virtual / Remote
Time Commitment:  5–10 hours/week (Flexible)
Reports To:  Executive Director / Board of Directors
Platform:  Bitrix24 (Tasks, Projects, CRM, Drive)
Position Summary
The Volunteer Director of HR Management will build and lead the HR function for a fast-paced, 100% virtual nonprofit. In a task-based, skills-focused environment, this role is crucial for recruiting, onboarding, and retaining passionate volunteers by matching their skills to specific projects. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain digital volunteer lifecycle processes within Bitrix24, ensuring a positive remote culture and compliance with volunteer best practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Virtual Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:  Manage the full-cycle recruitment of volunteers, including posting roles, interviewing, and facilitating seamless onboarding within Bitrix24.
  • Bitrix24 Project Management:  Utilize Bitrix24 Tasks to track volunteer capacity, assign project roles, set deadlines, and audit task completion to ensure project success.
  • Policy and Compliance:  Develop, document, and maintain virtual HR policies, volunteer agreements, and data privacy protocols to ensure compliance with nonprofit standards.
  • Volunteer Lifecycle & Engagement:  Oversee the entire volunteer lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, conducting regular check-ins and recognizing volunteer contributions to boost retention.
  • Skills Assessment & Mapping:  Identify, map, and organize volunteer skills in the Bitrix24 CRM to enable skills-based project staffing.
  • Culture & Performance Management:  Foster an inclusive, collaborative remote work culture. Address volunteer relations issues and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.

Requirements
  • Experience:  3+ years of HR experience, talent acquisition, or volunteer management, preferably within a nonprofit or virtual environment.
  • Technology Proficiency:  High proficiency in virtual collaboration tools. Experience with Bitrix24 (Tasks, CRM) is strongly preferred however not required. Experience with Asana, Monday.com, or similar project management systems will be considered.
  • Remote Work Savvy:  Experience working, leading, or coordinating within a 100% virtual team environment.
  • Skills-Based Approach:  Demonstrated ability to work in a project/task-based environment rather than traditional HR hierarchical structures.
  • Soft Skills:  Exceptional communication, empathy, leadership, and organization skills.
