Role Overview
The Staff Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining the general ledger, performing reconciliations, and assisting with the month-end and year-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and is comfortable using modern accounting software and automation tools to drive efficiency
Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries; maintain and update the chart of accounts.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure all financial data matches internal records.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • AP/AR Support: Oversee or assist with Accounts Payable (processing vendor invoices) and Accounts Receivable (tracking customer payments and collections).
  • Month-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset depreciation.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial records comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Prepare documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks (e.g., using AI for invoice matching) to improve data accuracy and speed.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Experience with QuickBooks online (preferred) or ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
