Hybrid - 90% Remote, 10% Onsite 6 month contract role Experience In Oncology Care Journey Redesign Is Required No 3rd Parties/No C2C Client is seeking an experienced Clinical Informatics Consultant with a strong oncology and/or patient intake background to support a strategic initiative focused on redesigning the breast cancer care journey. This role will partner with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to leverage AI-enabled workflows and process improvements aimed at reducing the time from diagnosis to treatment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of clinical workflow expertise, patient access/intake knowledge, and healthcare transformation experience, with the ability to bridge operational needs and technology-driven innovation. Key Responsibilities
Assess and map current-state breast cancer patient intake, navigation, scheduling, and treatment initiation workflows
Identify operational bottlenecks, delays, and workflow inefficiencies impacting time-to-treatment
Collaborate with oncology leadership, care coordinators, clinicians, access teams, and IT stakeholders to design optimized future-state workflows
Help guide the implementation and adoption of AI-assisted workflow solutions, including intake optimization, care coordination, decision support, and patient engagement capabilities
Provide clinical informatics expertise to ensure redesigned workflows align with patient care standards, operational goals, and provider usability
Facilitate stakeholder workshops, workflow sessions, and process redesign discussions
Support change management, operational readiness, and adoption efforts across impacted teams
Develop workflow documentation, recommendations, gap analyses, and executive-ready deliverables
Partner with Epic and digital health teams to ensure alignment between operational redesign and supporting technologies
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Clinical Informatics, Care Transformation, Oncology Operations, Patient Access, or related healthcare operational roles
Strong background supporting oncology workflows, preferably within breast cancer programs
Experience with patient intake, scheduling, care coordination, navigation, or referral management processes
Experience participating in healthcare workflow redesign or performance improvement initiatives
Familiarity with AI-assisted healthcare workflow solutions, automation tools, or digital health technologies preferred
Experience working in Epic environments
Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and executive stakeholders
Strong facilitation, process mapping, and documentation skills
Preferred Experience
Breast oncology program experience
Experience reducing care delays, improving patient throughput, or optimizing access workflows
Clinical background (RN, allied health, navigation, etc.) preferred but not required
Experience within large integrated delivery networks or academic health systems preferred
