Deccan AI Experts is partnering on a cultural competency evaluation project to test how well AI systems understand real‑world communities. Raters will help determine whether AI‑generated responses properly reflect the complexities, nuances, and contextual factors of lived cultural knowledge and practices. Role overview We’re seeking Community Health Workers and similar community‑facing professionals in Baltimore to serve as raters for health and community‑related queries. You’ll use your local and lived expertise to judge whether AI responses feel accurate, respectful, and genuinely aligned with Baltimore communities. What we’re looking for We’re not just looking for fact‑checkers, we need people with strong cultural, community, and language judgment.
Deep community and cultural proximity to Baltimore communities , with an ability to distinguish community‑held truths from stereotypes and to notice when sensitive or sacred knowledge is mishandled.
High linguistic and contextual fluency in local English and community vernacular : you can detect inauthentic voices, forced slang, overly clinical language, or tone that doesn’t fit the situation.
Awareness of intersectionality and historical power imbalances , including how race, class, gender, disability, and history shape health realities in Baltimore, and when AI responses “sanitize” or minimize that history.
Backgrounds such as Community Health Worker, patient advocate, health educator, public health staff, community organizer in health, or similar roles are ideal.
