About the role

Open the door. Pass it to ops. Move to the next city. You take a raw space and transform it into a fully functioning school—ready on time, fully operational—then transfer it to the operations team and begin the next buildout elsewhere. This is continuous sprint delivery, month after month. If this approach appeals to you, continue reading.
2 Hour Learning operates schools where students complete their academic requirements in two hours, then dedicate the remainder of their day to life skills, entrepreneurship, and opportunities that traditional education systems rarely accommodate. The results validate the model: students achieving top 1-2% national scores, advancing at double the standard pace. None of this functions without a ready campus. Your role is to deliver exactly that: fully operational school facilities, on schedule and within budget, across an expanding network of micro schools, growth campuses, and flagship vertical campuses in major metropolitan areas.
Timelines are invariably tight. The window from building handoff to opening day spans weeks, not months. This requires sequencing vendor activities, monitoring dependencies on a daily basis, and leveraging AI to anticipate every outstanding task before it causes a delay. After a campus launches, you hand the site over to the ongoing operations team and proceed to the next installation.
You'll begin with micro-campus buildouts—the most rapid and repeatable projects in the portfolio. As the network grows to encompass growth and flagship campuses, both the scope and complexity of your management responsibilities will expand accordingly.
When a school opens on schedule and students arrive on Day 1, your work goes unnoticed. That's the definition of success. Apply today via our assessment process: a cognitive evaluation followed by a practical work sample.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Overseeing the complete buildout for each campus under your responsibility: coordinating FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) procurement and installation, interior work, IT infrastructure, signage, and playspace from building handoff to opening day
  • Executing a compressed delivery timeline against a fixed opening date: sequencing vendor workflows, managing project dependencies, and accelerating progress wherever the schedule demands
  • Directing and approving vendor deliverables: submitting scopes, overseeing on-site execution, inspecting against specifications, and formally rejecting work that fails to meet standards
  • Leveraging AI tools to draft vendor scopes, produce punch lists, monitor outstanding items, and assemble handoff documentation—the pace of this role requires working this way
  • Implementing standardized site deployment playbooks, confirming readiness upon completion, documenting structured feedback, and organizing the handoff to the ongoing operations team

What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Overseeing steady-state facility operations once a campus is live: you transfer responsibility to the permanent ops team and advance to the next project
  • Executing hands-on trades or installation tasks: your role is to direct, inspect, and approve—not to perform manual labor or technical installations yourself
  • Handling real estate sourcing, permitting, or certificate of occupancy processes: these steps are completed before the building is handed to you
  • Operating on a single project at a leisurely pace: micro-campus buildouts progress rapidly, and the next one is always queued
  • Navigating shared ownership or ambiguous accountability: each buildout has one designated owner from handoff to opening day

Operations Coordinator Key Responsibilities
Deliver fully operational campuses on schedule and within budget, from building handoff to opening day.
Basic Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years in operations, facilities, or project delivery
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving a broken process, with a quantifiable outcome to demonstrate it: cost reduction, time savings, or quality enhancement
  • Experience owning a multi-step project from start to finish, from kickoff through documented completion
  • Proven vendor management capabilities: holding contractors accountable to quality standards and challenging them when they fall short
  • Experience managing 2 or more concurrent projects or sites without allowing tasks to slip through the cracks
  • Consistent use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to increase productivity and maintain organization
  • Based in the US and authorized to work without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to travel 60–80% of the time (3–4 days/week)

Nice-to-have Requirements
  • You've participated in a physical buildout or site activation in any sector: retail, restaurants, healthcare, offices, or comparable environments
  • Experience in construction project management, tenant improvement, commercial fit-out, or facilities management
  • Any direct exposure to FF&E, IT setup, signage, or commercial interior work, even in a coordinator or support capacity
  • You've worked with a project tracking tool (Wrike, Notion, Procore, Asana, Monday.com, or similar) to organize tasks or schedules
