Position: Network Equipment Engineer Contract Length: 30 months Location: Richardson, TX Work Setup: hybrid We are seeking a detail-oriented Network Equipment Engineer to support large-scale telecom infrastructure projects. This role combines detailed engineering, database administration, and reporting to ensure efficient deployment and operation of network systems. Network Equipment Engineer Responsibilities
Perform location-specific equipment engineering, including specifications, installation planning, inventory, and configuration
Issue purchase orders, secure approvals, and coordinate vendor delivery timelines
Maintain and update databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity
Build automated reports using Google Apps (Docs, Forms) and Tableau
Engineer floor space, rack layouts, cable measurements, and hardware placement
Assign power, fuses, breakers, and optimize cooling/airflow systems
Document network elements (facilities, bays, alarms) with accurate identifiers
Manage systems such as IFP, XNG, and SPM for builds, adds, and decommissions
Develop workflows and collaborate with regional teams to resolve engineering issues
Recommend process improvements with national-level impact
Utilize engineering platforms including UUI/CoFEE, ICON, CCP, VPNS, ACTP, Venue, and FUZE
Ability to update organization's databases and related applications to operate functionally and efficiently. Experience in Google Apps - can build automated reports on Google Docs and forms. Create and modify Google Docs, as well as customize the user interface with new menus, dialog boxes, and sidebars.
Proficiency with Google Apps scripting and automation
Hands-on experience with Tableau reporting tools
Strong understanding of telecom network infrastructure and engineering standards
Ability to manage multiple systems and detailed technical documentation
Preferred:
Experience with telecom engineering systems (e.g., ICON, CCP, FUZE)
Background in workflow automation and process optimization
Strong collaboration and communication skills
