The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary The Schvartzman Lab is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual who possesses experience that can help with daily lab operations. This position reports to Juan Manuel Schvartzman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Principal Investigator in the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. Subject to business needs, we may support flexible and hybrid work arrangements. Options will be discussed during the interview process. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Molecular biology techniques (sterile technique, cell culture, molecular cloning, western blotting, immunofluorescence processing and imaging, flow cytometry)
Preparation of samples for metabolomics analysis (GCMS)
Library preparation for chromatin biology techniques (ATAC-seq, CUT&TAG, CUT&RUN, RNA-seq)
General laboratory upkeep including inventory, ordering supplies, management laboratory stocks
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques.
One year of related experience.
Other Requirements
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and lab training skills.
Experienced use of Image, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator as well as proficient use of Microsoft Office. Basic use of R language for plotting.
Ability to keep laboratory notebooks in an orderly fashion.
Self-motivated, team-player with a personal desire to learn science by doing and advancing research in metabolism and chromatin.
