About the role

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Intake Specialist supports patient assistance operations by managing intake processes, reviewing applications, entering patient and insurance information into internal systems, and coordinating workflow activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare support environment. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with established business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and review patient assistance program applications within the Customer Relationship Management system
• Enter patient demographic, physician, insurance, household, and medication information accurately into internal databases
• Associate and organize application documents and images according to established procedures
• Perform initial assessments of applications to identify missing or incomplete information
• Conduct outreach activities to obtain required patient or provider documentation
• Route cases through appropriate workflow channels based on business rules and operational guidelines
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records within internal systems
• Support renewal and recertification activities for patient assistance programs
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to workflow processes and compliance standards
• Assist with special projects and operational support activities as assigned
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail related to patient applications and program operations
Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in an office, administrative, healthcare support, or customer service environment
• Strong computer proficiency and data entry skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities
• Ability to sit, stand, and carry materials as required within the work environment
• Flexibility to work varying schedules between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, including overtime when required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree or college coursework preferred
• Exposure to medical insurance or pharmacy benefits processes
• Experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems
• Previous healthcare, pharmacy, or patient support program experience

Pay Range: $18/hr to $20/hr
