Mission: The Brand Strategist is the primary strategist and creative thinker for their brands within the agency. They are responsible for leading the client account in all respects. They understand client goals, have regular discussions with the client and communicate key insights and action items to the rest of the agency. They collaborate with agency departments to meet and exceed client objectives. Responsibilities & Duties
Has a thorough understanding of client’s brand, market, and competition
Facilitates regular calls with clients to discuss direction, review recent progress, offer insights, and outline action items for the coming period
Communicates all things concerning clients (macro and micro) to agency staff
Writes creative briefs or other supporting strategy documents to deliver to agency/department stakeholders to ensure that teams have a proper understanding of the client’s brand and goals, related to specific campaigns
Pulls in planning team and subject area experts to help explain pitches or support reporting to clients, while still maintaining primary responsibility for delivery
Takes lead role in annual planning for clients, helping to write budgets and outline prioritized projects
Prepares for and participates in strategic or group planning sessions as needed
Works with expertise stakeholders in the agency to develop and make recommendations for services not utilized by clients
Works with department heads to ensure all projects clients are done to meet or exceed client’s expectations in terms of both quality and timeframe
Works proactively to keep tabs on the status of all projects for clients, ensuring that things do not fall behind schedule and details are not missed
Sets realistic expectations with clients regarding all agency work but strongly advocates for clients when working with agency stakeholders
Reviews and approves all work product, before it goes to clients or leaves the agency, to ensure that it is on-point in terms of branding, accuracy, and meets objectives
Regularly reviews agency reports for clients and analyzes all available data to draw conclusions and make insights
Prepares and analyzes specialized reports for clients including P&L, intake analysis, pipeline analysis, Pareto-point, and Stars report
Keeps tabs on things happening in the client’s market landscape, such as new competitors, and changes with current competitors
Plans and facilitates client visits to the agency as needed and participates in dinners or other activities
Travels to see clients as needed
Monitors and has a working knowledge of agency invoicing for clients to ensure there are no surprises
Has a working knowledge of each client’s profitability to the agency
