This position is Hybrid schedule: 2-3 days on-site per week. Specific on-site days may vary based on departmental needs. Candidates must reside in California.
Schedule: Days Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Net Assets Strategist plays a critical role in ensuring the responsible post-award stewardship of donor-restricted funds across all service lines and programs within CHLA. This position serves as a central finance leader, partnering with operational, clinical, and foundation teams to budget, monitor, and report on the use of restricted assets in alignment with donor intent and regulatory requirements. Develops and lead the execution of financial strategies, controls, and reporting mechanisms to support transparency, compliance, and optimal resource utilization. Required Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
10+ years of finance/accounting experience with at least 5 years leading an area in an academic medical center environment.
Strong understanding of fund accounting, donor restrictions, academic medicine finance operations and philanthropy.
Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, Workday, or similar ERP platforms.
Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field required. CPA or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
