About the role

NOTE: This role requires 1 WEEK a month of travel to their Midwest HQ. Travel expenses are covered.
Important context before you apply:
  • This is not a content role. A full Brand team owns content. They need someone data-focused — building journeys and segmenting the database.
  • Retail or omni-channel experience is a must
  • This is a true build role. You'll be building processes, frameworks, and lifecycle programs from scratch — not inheriting a mature playbook.

Our client is hiring a Sr. Manager, Customer Relationship & Lifecycle Marketing to lead a data-driven, customer-first engagement strategy across the full lifecycle, including acquisition, onboarding, retention, reactivation, and loyalty. This role is accountable for growing the active customer base, increasing LTV, and driving measurable revenue through personalized engagement across email, SMS, and direct mail.
What you'll own
  • CDP audience strategy and dynamic lifecycle segmentation, including product propensity and repurchase opportunities
  • End-to-end journey design and scalable automated triggers, built from the ground up, leveraging AI and martech to drive database profitability
  • Omni-channel execution across email, SMS, direct mail, and on-site personalization — aligned to brand voice and tailored by segment
  • A structured testing roadmap across offers, cadence, content, and channel mix
  • CRM KPIs (engagement, conversion, revenue, retention, LTV, churn) and the insights that translate into broader marketing and merchandising impact
  • Cross-functional partnership with Data, Creative, Digital, Merchandising, and Product

What you bring
  • 6–10+ years in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or customer engagement within retail or omni-channel consumer brands (pure DTC backgrounds are not a fit)
  • Proven track record building lifecycle programs and processes from scratch — not just optimizing existing ones
  • 2+ years managing direct reports and partnering with data, creative, and channel leads
  • Deep hands-on experience with CDP platforms (Salesforce CDP, Adobe RT-CDP, Segment, Tealium, mParticle, etc.)
  • Proven expertise activating audiences across email, SMS, and direct mail
  • Strong grasp of customer data, privacy, and consent management
  • Highly analytical, comfortable operating strategically and executionally
  • Bachelor's in marketing, business, or related field; advanced degree/certifications a plus
