YOUR ROLE The Senior Automation Implementation Engineer (Robotics) is responsible for the integration, deployment, commissioning, and optimization of automated fulfilment solutions in new and existing Distribution Centers. This role involves hands-on implementation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and technical problem solving to ensure automation projects are delivered on time, within budget. This role will also be instrumental in demonstrating proof of concept, proof of technology, and scalability of automation. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:1 Lead the installation, configuration, testing, validation, and commissioning of automated fulfillment systems, including AS/RS, Goods-to-Person (GTP), AMRs, Cobots, conveyors, and sortation systems. 2 Collaborate closely with the Automation Implementation Manager, Solutions Design, and external vendors to interpret designs and ensure successful automation implementation. 3 Conduct system validation and testing to ensure automation solutions meet performance criteria, safety standards, and operational requirements. 4 Provide technical expertise during the integration of automation systems with warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), and warehouse execution systems (WES). 5 Participate in cross-functional project meetings, offering technical input to align automation systems with project timelines and deliverables. 6 Identify and troubleshoot system issues during implementation and commissioning, working with internal teams and vendors to implement corrective actions. 7 Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing system optimizations to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability. 8 Document system configurations, changes, and test results to ensure compliance with project documentation standards and facilitate future system maintenance. 9 Mapping and rating potential vendors of emerging technologies in the warehouse automation sector (ie. Humanoid Robots, Robot Arms and Collaborative Forklifts, etc.) 10 Selection of vendors and sites/processes to conduct a PoC (Proof of Concept) and PoT (Proof of Technology) 11 Support Operations on site to conduct the PoC and PoT approved 12 Report the conclusion in the form of ROI estimate and potential cost savings and Lessons Learned after the PoC and PoT 13 Plan next steps, focused on scaling the technology inside CEVA Contract Logistics. This would include building calculators to determine feasibility over multiple sites, submittal of request for capital, and roll out planning based on high level profile analysis through business unit.
