The Senior Digital Strategist plans and strategically oversees the execution of paid search, display, streaming, and paid social media campaigns. They work closely with our entire Digital Marketing team on strategic oversight and relationship management of Carnegie’s higher education clients, with particular focus on our large, complex clients. This includes all aspects of our clients’ campaign execution, from proposal development and media plan creation to end-of-contract reporting and analysis. Duties and Responsibilities:
Campaign Set Ups and Management
Architect complex, integrated digital strategies driven by our clients’ business marketing goals and objectives independently with little daily managerial oversight required
Identify digital business opportunities and design the media plan to drive an effective digital marketing strategy and sound tactical execution
Prepare strategic, multichannel media plans/budgets for existing and potential new clients
Oversee the execution of clients’ campaigns, ensuring goals are being met by working closely with platform specialists to continually optimize campaigns
Reporting and Analysis
Provide in-depth monthly and ad-hoc reporting and analysis for clients using Google Analytics, Google Looker Studio, and platform reporting tools
Analyze data in aggregate, identify short-term and long-term trends, and make thoughtful recommendations accordingly
Client Interaction
Foster client-agency relationships through monthly strategy calls, acting as an expert partner for clients and advising on best practices
Internal Teams
Keep up-to-date on digital landscape trends, emerging platforms, and industry news
Show thought leadership through contributions to team meetings, including bringing forward ideas around process improvements, strategic testing, and ways to increase client satisfaction/campaign success
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise client accounts led by junior and mid-level strategists for added support and mentorship, and to ensure a strong client relationship is maintained.
Assist in training and onboarding new team members on processes and daily tasks as needed
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Clear oral and written communication skills, both internally and externally; can confidently speak to and present on campaign performance with both clients and internal Digital team members
Experience analyzing and reporting on data trends with a full understanding of digital marketing KPIs and success metrics
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively multitask in a deadline-driven atmosphere
Experience with Asana or other project management software tools a plus
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, utilizing resources to work independently and troubleshoot arising issues before escalating to senior team members
Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Credentials and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing/Advertising major or concentration preferred
2 or more years of experience with digital media planning and/or execution of digital marketing campaigns
Experience using and analyzing data visualization tools such as Google Looker Studio and Google Analytics
Direct experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and/or Google Display & Video 360 or other DSP required
Some management experience preferred
Google Ads and/or Google Analytics certifications a plus
