About the Opportunity Careerscape is hiring a Remote Business Analyst on behalf of our client — a fast-scaling, technology-driven company headquartered in New Jersey. This is a fully remote role built for a curious, structured thinker who genuinely enjoys the space between business needs and technical execution. You'll spend your days talking to stakeholders, mapping how work actually gets done, surfacing inefficiencies, and shaping the kind of clear, build-ready requirements that keep engineering teams unblocked. If you're someone who can listen carefully, ask the right questions, and translate ambiguity into structure, this role is for you. What You'll Do
Engage directly with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements
Translate strategic business goals into actionable user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process diagrams
Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder interviews to align teams across departments
Examine existing workflows to identify friction, surface inefficiencies, and recommend smarter alternatives
Create and maintain detailed process documentation including flowcharts, swim lanes, and SOPs
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, QA, and UX designers across the full SDLC
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by drafting test cases, coordinating testers, and triaging issues
Conduct gap analysis between current-state and future-state systems and processes
Use data to support business cases, ROI modeling, and prioritization decisions
Maintain organized project artifacts in Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Azure DevOps
Contribute to change management efforts including training materials, release notes, and stakeholder updates
Serve as the connective layer between business users and technical teams from kickoff through launch
What We're Looking For
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar requirements-focused role
Demonstrated strength in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management
Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Azure DevOps
Proficiency with diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro
Working SQL skills for querying databases and validating data
Strong Excel or Google Sheets fluency — pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas
Experience operating within Agile and Scrum teams, including backlog refinement and sprint ceremonies
Track record supporting UAT, including writing test cases and coordinating user testing cycles
Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is a plus
Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Scrum are a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication — fluent in both business and technical conversations
Self-directed in a fully remote setting with strong multi-project time management
Benefits & Perks
Competitive base salary with bonus eligibility
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Flexible PTO and paid holidays
100% remote setup with flexible scheduling
401(k) retirement plan with employer match
Professional development and certification reimbursement
Home office stipend and equipment provided
Team offsites and a strong virtual collaboration culture
Clear growth path into Senior Business Analyst, Product Manager, or Program Manager roles
