Position Summary
The Director of UX & Product Design will lead the design and user experience strategy for the organization’s digital platforms and products. This role will focus on creating accessible, user-centered, and visually engaging experiences that support the organization’s mission, programs, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead UX/UI strategy and design direction for websites, digital platforms, and community tools
Conduct user research and recommend improvements to enhance accessibility and engagement
Develop wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and user flows
Collaborate with developers, content creators, and leadership teams on product initiatives
Ensure all digital experiences align with the organization’s brand identity and mission
Optimize website usability, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness
Support the design of digital campaigns, virtual experiences, and community engagement tools
Mentor volunteer designers and contribute to creative leadership discussions
Stay updated on UX trends, accessibility standards, and emerging design technologies
Qualifications
5- 10 years Experience in UX/UI design, product design, or digital experience strategy
Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and user-centered design principles
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment
Passion for mental health advocacy, social impact, and community-centered design
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing nonprofit, healthcare, wellness, or community platforms
Knowledge of web development principles and product management workflows
Experience leading or mentoring design teams
Familiarity with user analytics and usability testing
