Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking nutrition students or dietetics technicians interested in working closely with a Registered Dietitian and gaining first-hand experience working with patients recovering from eating disorders. Candidates with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities are preferred, but not required, to join our team providing compassionate care at our tranquil residential treatment facilities located residential treatment centers in the Pasadena and Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area. Job Description: The Diet Aide works closely with the Registered Dietitian in monitoring and maintaining the dietary program. The Diet Aide performs essential duties associated with meal plans, resident information related to meal patterns, and safety pertaining to the nutritional care and food service of all residents. Additional duties include grocery shopping, cooking meals, eating at restaurants with patients, and cleaning duties to ensure proper sanitation practices. Key Responisbilities Include
Work with Registered Dietitian in ensuring resident nutritional needs.
Plan and prepare resident meals.
Provide baking, cooking and nutrition-related groups
Plan and participate in restaurant outings and delivery for some meals
Monitor and order food and supplies.
Check food logs/diaries daily to ensure patients are following meal plans provided by Registered Dieitian
Implement and monitor sanitation and kitchen safety protocols.
Maintain and monitor emergency food supply; ensure protocols are followed.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to have an impact on people’s eating disorder recovery
May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
Must be available to work weekends.
