We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious Grant Researcher to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep research, thrives on translating complex information into clear insights, and has a strong interest in federal and state grant funding.
The Grant Researcher plays a critical role in our grant services process—analyzing Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs), tracking funding trends and legislative changes, and producing high-quality, client-ready grant summaries that guide funding strategy. This person will work closely with our Client Relationship Management team to ensure clients are informed, prepared, and positioned for success.
This role requires both independence and collaboration. The right candidate should be comfortable fielding questions, following research threads to their conclusion, and serving as a go-to resource for grant-related insights.
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze federal and state grant NOFOs, program guidelines, and agency materials to assess eligibility, competitiveness, and alignment with client needs.
  • Distill complex grant requirements into concise, high-quality 1–3 page grant summaries.
  • Monitor past, current, and upcoming federal and state grant opportunities.
  • Track year-over-year program changes, funding priorities, and guideline updates.
  • Track legislative and policy developments that impact grant funding availability.
  • Monitor funding trends across agencies and programs.
  • Attend grant program webinars and briefings; capture and synthesize key takeaways.
  • Maintain an organized, up-to-date internal grant database including deadlines, requirements, eligibility criteria, and submission instructions.
  • Research and identify new or emerging funding sources relevant to client priorities.
  • Work closely with internal teams to answer grant-related questions and conduct targeted research.
  • Communicate with grant agencies or administrators to clarify requirements or obtain missing information.
  • Support ad-hoc research requests and administrative tasks (e.g., downloading application materials, verifying deadlines, portal navigation).

Professional Skills
  • Exceptional reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and research skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Clear, concise written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable “going down the rabbit hole” to find answers.
  • Collaborative, responsive, and team-oriented.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to support research and synthesis.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of research experience in public policy, government, grants, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with federal and state grant programs and funding structures.
  • Working knowledge of grant portals (e.g., Grants.gov and state funding agency portals.
  • Interest in political, legislative, and policy developments affecting public funding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Technical Requirements
  • Efficient, effective, and focused in a fully remote environment;
  • Fast internet connection and quiet place to focus to fully participate in video meetings and conference calls with clients and colleagues; and
  • Professional presence in online meetings (Microsoft Teams).
