Our Laser and Gimbal Systems Division focuses on building high energy lasers and precision opto-mechanical assemblies for the defense market, supporting critical national security initiatives and defense innovation. Job Summary: Attalon, within the Laser and Gimbal Systems Division, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our facility in Longmont CO. They will oversee the procurement of materials, goods, and services in order to fulfill the organization’s demands and specifications. This position relies heavily on the ability to build strong business relationships for long-term success and stability in supply chain. The role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams on exciting and challenging product developments in the areas of high-energy lasers, gimballed assemblies, space-based optical telescopes, and active sensing. Responsibilities include overseeing Purchasing, Subcontract Management, Supplier Logistics, Shipping/Receiving Operations and associated staff. Responsibilities:
Perform and lead procurement activities and Subcontract Management
Management of and active participation within a small team of procurement specialists
Supplier management, including developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans and establishing long-term relationships with key suppliers to realize cost savings and favorable terms
Development of cost-reduction strategies
Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers
Negotiation for the best value of dollars spent
Responsible for Supply Chain Department Budget
Engage in supplier interactions which ensure on time delivery, ideal cost, and quality
Responsible for improvement and periodic update of standard cost
Responsible for selection and qualification of appropriate Attalon suppliers
Responsible for timely and complete new component qualification process
Responsible for overseeing Supplier Quality
Incorporate production line checks and processes which, in concert with logistics, ensure timely introduction and conformance of new material prior to acceptance for payment or supply shortages
Develop and implement “LEAN” processes to eliminate waste
Advocate “LEAN” concepts in the office and serve as a “LEAN” leader for department employees
Expediting and organizing material timelines to fulfill customer demands
Communicate quality and conformance expectations and concerns with suppliers
Partner with Sales to level material flow requirements through cost and other customer incentives
Ensure integrity of supply, such as dual sourcing
Maintain weekly KPI’s
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Logistics or related field with 8+ years’ related experience or Master’s Degree in relevant field with 5+ years of experience
Aerospace and Defense Supply Chain Management including procurement and supplier sourcing
Experience with multiple ERP systems, especially IFS and Oracle
Demonstrated success in contract negotiations
Strong Supplier Evaluation and Relationship Management skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to secure preferential treatment from critical suppliers for Attalon’s needs
Ability to understand and communicate technical information
Preferred Qualifications:
Strategic sourcing, especially related to precision opto-mechanical assemblies, laser systems and their components (Optical, Mechanical, Electrical)
Supplier cost-control and schedule driven management
Supplier Quality Assessment
Familiarity with operations functions other than supply chain management (e.g. quality, inventory, Shipping/Receiving, and Configuration Management/Document Control)
For Colorado, the salary pay range for this role is $100,500.00 - $178,000.00 Please note this range is provided as a general guideline.
