Job Title: Accountant (Entry-Level) Position Summary The accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and assists in maintaining accurate financial records for ASM and its related entities. This is an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience and development in core accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and the month-end close process. This position is part of a small, collaborative finance team and reports directly to the Controller. The role offers broad exposure to multiple aspects of accounting in a non-profit environment. Essential Job duties & responsibilities
Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
Perform balance sheet reconciliations with guidance from senior team members
Support accounts payable and expense processing as needed
Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and related reporting
Track daily cash and bank activity
Support preparation of financial reports and schedules
Assist with annual audit preparation by gathering required documentation
Support sales and use tax filings and 1099 reporting processes
Participate in ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Up to 2 years of accounting experience (internships included)
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., basic formulas, data organization) and Word
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured and organized manner
Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating with a small team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates a service-oriented mindset when supporting internal stakeholders
