About the role

Technical Trainer: Preventative Maintenance (Conveyor & Automation Systems)
Location: Remote + Travel (20-50%)
Position Overview:
We’re partnering with a well-established material handling integrator seeking a hands-on Technical Trainer to lead preventive maintenance and troubleshooting training for automated conveyor systems and PLC-controlled equipment .
This is not a classroom-only role. We’re looking for someone who has turned wrenches, tracked down root causes, and understands conveyors from the inside out — and can now train maintenance teams to do the same. If you’ve spent years in the field troubleshooting conveyors, diagnosing mechanical failures, and keeping automated systems running, and you enjoy teaching others how to do it right, this role was built for you.
What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver hands-on training to Maintenance and Operations teams on conveyor systems and controls
  • Teach preventive maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Break down complex mechanical and electrical systems into practical, usable instruction
  • Train teams on mechanical components including drives, motors, bearings, chains, sprockets, belting, pulleys, gearboxes, and alignment
  • Support training on PLC-controlled systems and system troubleshooting workflows
  • Coordinate vendor-led technical training and ensure documentation is organized and complete
  • Track completed training sessions and continuously improve content
  • Travel to customer sites to lead training and support system knowledge transfer

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems (this is critical)
  • Background in a maintenance, field service, or system troubleshooting role
  • Experience diagnosing system failures and performing preventive maintenance
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled automation systems
  • Comfort with both high- and low-voltage electrical environments
  • Ability to confidently train and mentor maintenance technicians
  • Clear communicator who can simplify complex systems
  • Organized, adaptable, and customer-focused

Perks:
  • Work with advanced automated material handling systems
  • High-visibility role supporting customer success
  • Strong internal collaboration with engineering and service teams
  • Competitive Salary + Bonus Potential + 401(k) Match
  • Comprehensive Benefits + Flexible PTO
  • Culture that values expertise, initiative, and problem-solving
