Technical Trainer: Preventative Maintenance (Conveyor & Automation Systems) Location: Remote + Travel (20-50%) Position Overview: We’re partnering with a well-established material handling integrator seeking a hands-on Technical Trainer to lead preventive maintenance and troubleshooting training for automated conveyor systems and PLC-controlled equipment . This is not a classroom-only role. We’re looking for someone who has turned wrenches, tracked down root causes, and understands conveyors from the inside out — and can now train maintenance teams to do the same. If you’ve spent years in the field troubleshooting conveyors, diagnosing mechanical failures, and keeping automated systems running, and you enjoy teaching others how to do it right, this role was built for you. What You’ll Do:
Deliver hands-on training to Maintenance and Operations teams on conveyor systems and controls
Teach preventive maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
Break down complex mechanical and electrical systems into practical, usable instruction
Train teams on mechanical components including drives, motors, bearings, chains, sprockets, belting, pulleys, gearboxes, and alignment
Support training on PLC-controlled systems and system troubleshooting workflows
Coordinate vendor-led technical training and ensure documentation is organized and complete
Track completed training sessions and continuously improve content
Travel to customer sites to lead training and support system knowledge transfer
What We’re Looking For:
Strong mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems (this is critical)
Background in a maintenance, field service, or system troubleshooting role
Experience diagnosing system failures and performing preventive maintenance
Working knowledge of PLC-controlled automation systems
Comfort with both high- and low-voltage electrical environments
Ability to confidently train and mentor maintenance technicians
Clear communicator who can simplify complex systems
