The Chief Operating Officer will report to the Board of Directors.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership to develop and implement the organization’s research and operational strategies.
- Drive organizational growth by identifying and capitalizing on emerging research opportunities.
- Drive strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives.
- Oversee the daily operations of research functions, including clinical trials, data management, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and refine operational processes, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with industry standards.
- Implement performance metrics to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage research budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals.
- Collaborate with finance teams to forecast costs, manage funding, and ensure financial sustainability.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Mentor and develop department leaders, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the research teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, regulatory agencies, and academic collaborators.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure all research activities comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance research efficiency and quality.
- Evaluate and implement systems to streamline operations, such as clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and data analytics platforms.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MBA, or equivalent) in a relevant field is preferred
- 15+ years’ experience in research operations
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Experiences in managing global operations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and negotiating contracts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Fluent in English.
