About The Role
What if your deep expertise in semiconductor materials or molecular modeling could directly shape how AI reasons about the physical world? We're looking for Material Science specialists — Masters and PhDs — to work alongside leading AI research teams, helping build AI models that genuinely understand advanced scientific concepts.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for experts who want to do meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, solve, and review advanced material science problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related areas to design complex, rigorous problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to improve AI reasoning in your field
  • Ensure scientific rigor and precision across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are
  • Master's or PhD in Material Science or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or equivalent specialization
  • Proficient in Python or MATLAB for research or technical problem-solving
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Nice to Have
  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background in computational materials science, thin films, photovoltaics, or device physics
  • Experience communicating complex scientific concepts in writing for non-specialist audiences
  • Familiarity with AI tools or evaluation platforms as an end user
