II. Job Overview
The Healthcare Operations Director is responsible for the overall operational management of the healthcare institution, optimizing processes, improving the quality of healthcare services and operational efficiency, and ensuring the achievement of business goals and compliant operations. This role requires coordinating resources across multiple departments, including medical, nursing, administration, and finance, to drive continuous organizational growth and lean management.
III. Job Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
Responsible for the daily operations management of the hospital/medical institution, formulating and implementing operational strategies.
Establishing and optimizing medical service processes to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Monitoring key operational indicators (such as bed occupancy rate, patient turnover rate, revenue structure, etc.).
2. Quality and Compliance
Ensuring compliance with medical industry regulatory requirements (such as Joint Commission standards).
Promoting the construction of a medical quality management system to reduce medical risks and error rates.
Supervising the implementation of internal audits and compliance systems.
3. Finance and Cost Control
Participating in budget formulation and execution, controlling operating costs, and improving profitability.
Analyzing revenue and cost structures to promote refined management.
Optimizing resource allocation to improve return on investment (ROI).
4. Team Management
Leading the medical operations team (administration, nursing coordination, support departments, etc.).
Establishing a performance appraisal system to improve team efficiency and execution.
Promoting cross-departmental collaboration (medical, IT, human resources, etc.).
5. Strategy and Development
Participating in the formulation of the institution's medium- and long-term development strategy.
Promoting new business expansion (specialty development, chain expansion, digital healthcare, etc.).
Supporting mergers and acquisitions and new hospital construction projects.
6. Information Technology and Data Management
Promoting the construction of healthcare information systems (e.g., Epic Systems, Cerner)
Optimizing operational decisions using data analysis (e.g., patient traffic, treatment efficiency)
IV. Qualifications
Education Background
Bachelor's degree or above in Healthcare Management, Public Health, Business Administration, or related fields
Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred
Work Experience
Over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including over 5 years of operational management experience
Hospital or healthcare group operational management experience preferred
Professional Skills
Familiar with healthcare operational systems and process optimization methods (e.g., Lean Management, Six Sigma)
Familiar with healthcare policies, regulations, and health insurance systems (e.g., Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
Strong data analysis and decision-making abilities
General Skills
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong cross-departmental communication and coordination skills
Strategic thinking and execution ability
V. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
