Location: NXP Ed Bluestein - Austin, TX Pay Transparency: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (DOE; ~35 hours per week) for administrative duties + $30.00 - $55.00 per hour for personal training services, health coaching services and/or group fitness class delivery (DOE; up to 5 hours per week); Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Schedule, Work Hours, or Availability Requirements: This position operates on a variable schedule based on business needs. Facility operating hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Role and Responsibilities The purpose of the Fitness & Wellness Coordinator is to provide professional fitness services to members and clients of the center, to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs and to support the General Manager in the overseeing of daily fitness operations of all Personal Training related services. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and work related relationships with all persons at the center including but not limited to members, guests and team members. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions
Sell and deliver personal training sessions to clients
Schedule and conduct new member onboarding sessions
Assist with new member outreach and follow-up with low users
Assist members in using safe and effective exercise form during their workouts
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly fitness floor, racking weights. Includes picking up loose towels, water bottles, magazines, cleaning equipment, etc.
Perform fitness assessments (movement and posture assessments, blood pressure checks, body composition tests) as requested by members
Support, teach and encourage members to meet his/her fitness goals
Work together as a team with all departments
Assist in development and implementation of new fitness programs/classes
Assist with scheduling coverage of fitness floor hours
Assist with payroll
Assist with managing the MindBody member management system
Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance
Work as a TEAM with all other departments
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Other Functions
Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness
Promote club services and activities
Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean
Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings
Qualifications Qualifications and Education Requirements
4 year college or university in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education major preferred
Communication skills, customer service oriented
Minimum of one year Fitness experience preferred. Current Nationally accredited Personal Training Certification or Health Coach Certification.
Customer service oriented ability to provide Personal Training and/or Health Coaching service to the members.
Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
Strong verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry
AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
Proof of citizenship or legal status
Physical and Working Conditions
Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
Ability to stand for several hours in the same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs
Fitness club environment
