Position Summary The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as a critical liaison between business operations and technology. This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, eliciting and documenting system requirements, and supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions that enhance efficiency, regulatory compliance, and service delivery. The BSA supports mission-critical systems that enable patient access services, provider engagement, financial operations, and organizational effectiveness. This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Elicit, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements from internal stakeholders
Translate business needs into system specifications, workflows, and user stories for internal IT teams and external vendors
Evaluate current-state processes and recommend future-state improvements using workflow analysis and data-driven insights
Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations across operational and administrative platforms
Serve as liaison between business units, IT, and vendors to ensure solutions meet organizational and regulatory requirements
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and validation
Develop and maintain documentation including business requirements, process maps, SOPs, and training materials
Monitor system performance and assist in issue triage, prioritization, and escalation
Ensure system workflows align with HIPAA, data privacy, and information security standards
Provide post-implementation support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2–5 years of experience in business analysis, systems support, operations, or related field
Demonstrated ability to document requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with business systems documentation tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or regulated environments
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy standards
Experience supporting system implementations or integrations
Knowledge of ticketing systems, project management tools, or workflow software
Employment Requirements
Must reside and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire and throughout employment
