The Brighton Center for Specialty Care is the newest University of Michigan Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The facility is in Brighton, MI. Responsibilities*

You will provide direct patient care, utilizing evidence based treatment, designed to restore and maximize performance, using indicated pediatric interventions, in coordination with a multi-disciplinary team.

Required Qualifications*

- If licensed before 1/1/2007: Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy.

- If licensed on or after 1/1/2007: Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.

- Satisfactory completion of an internship program.

- Current Michigan Occupational Therapist License

- Registered member of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

- This classification requires Primary Source Verification.

- Minimum of 1-year pediatric rehabilitation (OT) experience in a medical setting

- Experience with the following across the pediatric continuum:

- Splinting

- Feeding

- Casting

- Sensory Integration

- Neuologic and Genetic diagnoses

- Developmental diagnoses

Desired Qualifications*

- Experience with the following standardized measurement tools:

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

This is a 32 hour per week position. Clinic hours of operation are Monday through Friday. Facility hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am-7:00pm and Saturdays 7:00am-12:30pm. Saturdays would not be required for this position, but applicants must have availability to work within the hours of operation Monday through Friday.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

As an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist/Clinician**, ** you will be responsible for providing **home and community based ** early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings.  You will partner with parents/caregivers to ensure service delivery is individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Through this collaborative process you ensure families’ priorities, needs, culture, and values are prioritized.

**Position Responsibilities: **

- Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of client’s developmental status.

- Provide direct services and activities developmentally appropriate for children 0-3 and their families.

- Participate in the development of Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.

- Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate

- Provides individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.

- Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.

- Provides supportive professional assistance to families.

- Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.

**Position Requirements: **

- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions

- Experience with infants, toddlers and families is preferred

- Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
