The County Office of Education will provide leadership into the 21st century through quality service, to school districts, students, parents and community, while promoting educational excellence for all learners through the following means:

    * Provide leadership and advocacy support on behalf of public education
    * Develop and implement student programs, as requested by school districts or in response to community needs.
    * Serve as an intermediate educational agency between school districts and state control agencies as mandated through legislative or administrative acts.
    * Coordinate educational programs and services to maximize effectiveness and reduce duplication of efforts and provide technical assistance as needed.

**Job Summary**

Job Summary

Only 20 minutes from the Sacramento County line in the beautiful Sierra-Nevada foothills! The El Dorado County Office of Education accepts applications for the position of Driver, on a year round basis, with no application deadline. This posting will be used to create an eligibility list. The eligibility list will be active for a period of six (6) months and will be utilized to fill current and future vacancies in this classification. This position is a split-shift Driver for special needs students. Hours range from 7 to 8 hours per day, depending on available routes. Applicant must possess a valid Class C Driver's License. Applicant must be punctual, reliable, courteous, and able to work with a diverse group of people. 10% differential pay when assigned to a bus (requires bus certification). Job Purpose Statement: Under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation, transports special services students on designated routes.

**Requirements / Qualifications**

-  Experience: Prior record of safe driving experience and successful interaction with children with special needs. Work experience in an educational setting is preferred.

-  Education: High school diploma or equivalent. *Applications are screened on a regular basis. All applicants are required to pass testing in order to be placed on an eligibility list.*
