**CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge **, located within **The Study at University City **, is seeking a polished and service-driven **Host / Hostess ** to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and organized dining experience while managing reservations, guest flow, and communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering a thoughtful and engaging guest experience. This position plays a key role in setting the tone for service and ensuring seamless restaurant operations.

**Responsibilities**

- Greet and seat guests promptly while delivering a warm and professional first impression

- Manage reservations and guest flow using OpenTable and other systems

- Answer and direct phone calls for reservations, guest inquiries, and internal communication

- Coordinate room service and to-go orders efficiently and accurately

- Maintain awareness of VIP guests and special requests

- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest room charges accurately

- Communicate effectively with service staff and kitchen team to support smooth operations

- Maintain an organized host stand and clean work environment

- Provide knowledgeable responses to guest questions regarding menus and restaurant offerings

- Support team members as needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience

**Fundamentals**

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

- Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred

- Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable preferred

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Proficiency in English required; a second language is a plus

- Ability to lift or carry items up to 40 pounds

- Ability to stand for extended periods

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
