The Pala Band of Mission Indians is located in northern San Diego County. The majority of the enrolled members live on a 12,000-acre reservation established for Cupeno and Luiseno Indians. **Position Description**

Title: Laborer

Department/Division: Robert’s Ranch

Supervisor: Grove Manager

**Position Summary**

Under supervision of the Grove Manager, the Laborer will assist in the maintenance of the citrus grove and assists in monitoring weather and all related activities pertaining to the citrus grove.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

- Assist in project work plans and carry out citrus grove ideas.

- Monitor and, when necessary, repairs irrigation systems.

- Operates vehicles and other motor-driven machinery.

- Plant trees, prune, apply fertilizer and herbicides, and control rodents.

- Performs other related duties as directed by the Grove Manager.

**Knowledge, Skills, Certifications And Abilities**

- Knowledge of irrigation systems is required.

- Knowledge of pruning, fertilizer, herbicides, and frost conditions.

- Must be reliable and dependable.

- Ability to lift, stand, and work in various weather conditions.

**Minimum Qualifications**

- Must be at least 18 years or older.

- High School graduate or equivalent education (GED) or related fields preferred.

- Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Must pass pre-employment (including marijuana) and random drug testing during employment.

- Must have a valid California class C driver’s license.

**Job Description**

Title: Landscaper/Laborer

Supervisor: Lead Flagger/Raceway Manager

**Position Summary**

Maintain the raceway property keeping all areas clean and presentable. May be used as backup to flagger position when needed. Ongoing weed abatement and general minor repairs on equipment.

**Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

- Remove weeds throughout the entire venue including keeping the main entrance clean from weeds, trash, and debris that has washed down the driveway.

- Trim trees to keep signs open and visible for patrons to

- Keep water spigots on the tracks clean, visible and in good operating

- Maintain fence closures and fix (or report) broken fences around the

- Making sure that there is only one way on the tracks and one way off the

- Mow and edge the grass

- Ensure the kids' playground equipment is clean and in good operating

- Clean up shop area and pits by disposing of trash, tires, fuel

- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of bleachers and

- Make sure the pavilion areas are clean and presentable to patrons by removing dirt and

- Clean and maintain the permanent restrooms at raceway site by replacing toilet paper and other restroom consumables. Restrooms need a clean and healthy environment for patrons and employees.

- Maintain all trash can service daily by removing full bags and replace with clean

- Ensure and maintain the start gates operating condition including cleanliness and readiness for all event or when asked by management.
