Position Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) is an essential member of our pain management team. In collaboration with our on-site physicians, Dr. Keogh and Dr. Avila, the PA provides comprehensive, patient-centered care including:

- New patient evaluations

- Routine follow-up care

- Medication management

- In-office procedures (e.g., trigger point, knee, and shoulder injections)

- Recommendations for interventional procedures and referrals to specialty services

You’ll work within a multimodal approach to pain care that may involve coordination with orthopedic surgery, neurology, psychiatry, chiropractic care, radiology, and physical therapy.

Our board-certified physicians provide ongoing training and mentorship, ensuring you stay current with the latest advances in treating acute and chronic pain.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough new patient and follow up assessments

- Prescribe and adjust medications based on patient needs and regulations

- Recommend interventional pain management therapies as indicated

- Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and team members

- Maintain accurate, detailed and timely clinical documentation

- Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled to maintain continuity of care

- Respond to patient calls and team communications by the end of each workday

- Contribute to a positive, respectful team culture grounded in empathy and compassion

- Perform additional duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

- Licensure: Current or eligible Physician Assistant license in North Carolina

- DEA License: Active or in progress

- Experience: One year of experience in pain management preferred; new graduates with strong interest in pain care are encouraged to apply
