**Job Description**

The Brand Strategist is responsible for bringing the company’s brand strategy initiatives to life across marketing channels, campaigns, internal communications, and customer touchpoints. This role helps track brand health metrics and develop recommendations for further improvement.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Brand Strategy, this role translates brand positioning and messaging frameworks into compelling marketing initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, consideration, and reputation.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Translate brand strategy across marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent application of brand positioning, voice and visual identity.

- Manage the development and implementation of brand initiatives that support acquisition, retention, internal communications, and overall brand growth.

- Apply established brand messaging frameworks across marketing materials, campaigns, and customer communications ensuring consistency.

- Work closely with creative, paid media, CRM, and digital teams to ensure brand messaging resonates with target audiences across the shopper journey.

- Support the implementation and maintenance of brand guidelines and visual identity standards.

- Act as a day-to-day resource for internal teams seeking brand guidance.

- Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to identify and curate new consumer facing messages that support brand positioning

- Support cross-departmental efforts to maintain consistent brand representation across customer touchpoints.

- Support the Senior Manager of Brand Strategy in tracking brand health metrics and developing insights that inform future initiatives.

- Support project management and coordination of agency deliverables.

- Stay informed on market trends, competitive brand activity, and cultural insights to help inform brand initiatives and creative development.

- Partner with the social media team to ensure organic social content reflects the brand voice, narrative, and strategic messaging priorities.

- Provide brand guidance on social content themes, storytelling approaches, and campaign amplification opportunities.

**Qualifications**

- 5-8 years of experience in brand management, brand marketing, or integrated marketing roles.

- Experience executing brand strategies and marketing campaigns across multiple channels including digital, social, and CRM.

- Strong understanding of brand positioning and messaging frameworks, with experience applying them across marketing initiatives.

- Demonstrated ability to manage brand programs and campaigns from concept through execution.

- Experience collaborating with creative teams, channel owners, and product marketing teams to ensure brand consistency.

- Familiarity with brand guidelines, visual identity systems, and asset management.

- Experience working with external agencies or creative partners.

- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

- Ability to interpret marketing performance metrics and apply insights to optimize brand initiatives.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

**Role Summary/Purpose**

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class creative organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. We are seeking an Associate Creative Director with a passion for creating award-winning work to join Goldmind, Synchrony’s in-house creative agency. Our ideal candidate is a strong creative thinker as well as a natural collaborator, storyteller, and a strong creative leader. The Associate Creative Director solves problems in collaboration with creative directors, art directors, clients, copywriters, designers, developers, and account team members. Key responsibilities include leading a team, directing their work, executing and elevating the creative for business platforms across Synchrony that focus on B2B and B2C audiences.

**Essential Responsibilities**

- Responsible for concepting, executing, and directing a wide range of creative projects including marketing campaigns, social media, web pages, presentations, emails, display ads, in-person experiences, and Trade Shows.

- Collaborate with fellow creatives and outside vendors as required to exceed expectations on projects

- Manage, grow, support and lead creative team members by sharing knowledge, encouraging collaboration and inspiring bold creative thinking that elevates the work

- Present creative work to team members including account managers, clients and executive leadership

- Conduct and participate in creative reviews while delivering direct feedback focused on project goals

- Work with account and project managers to ensure project objectives are clearly outlined and appropriate time is allocated

- Ability to uncover insights and make strong connections with creative work in the Health & Wellness industry

- Follow budgets, timelines and internal processes for each project while advocating for needed changes to improve outcomes

**Qualifications/Requirements**

- Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, communications, digital media, cinematography, or related field, OR in lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 8+ years of work experience in digital design and/or video in an advertising agency, digital agency, or video production company

- A minimum of 8+ years of professional delivering integrated and digital projects, advertising/digital agency experience coordinating interactive digital content from initial stage to final execution

- Must provide a portfolio or work samples to be considered for the role

- Must be comfortable within a fast-paced digital production environment

- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

We’re proud to offer you flexibility. At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to our nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as weekly business or team meetings, training and culture events.

- Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.

**Eligibility Requirements**

- You must be 18 years or older

- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
