**Position Summary:**

This position is based at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography in Savannah, GA. The Director is the most senior administrator of the Skidaway Institute, and has overall responsibility for strategic initiatives and fiscal planning, promoting externally funded research and impactful educational programs, managing campus infrastructure and advancing major capital projects. Additional responsibilities for the Director include overseeing the Institute staff, serving as supervisor of record for Skidaway-based faculty, providing support for research, outreach and educational programs, and working to foster partnerships and communication. The Director models and fosters a climate of collegiality while providing the strategic and institutional vision for vigorous, collaborative research and education. The person in this position will hold their primary academic appointment as a full-professor in the UGA Department of Marine Sciences and is expected to remain active in research. **Position Summary**

The University of Georgia Libraries seeks a forward-thinking and collaborative Collection Librarian for Social Sciences to support the strategic development and stewardship of scholarly resources. As one of three disciplinary collection librarians reporting to the Collection Strategies Coordinator, this position contributes to a shared collection strategy, coordinating collection development and management across social sciences disciplines in support of the University’s research, teaching, and learning mission. The role contributes to major resource decision-making, budget allocation, and strategic shifts by advising on collection-related needs, priorities, issues, and trends in the disciplinary areas they represent, as well as team-level projects and initiatives that cut across disciplines.

The Collection Librarian for Social Sciences evaluates and selects resources across formats and acquisition models, assesses collection use and impact, and identifies gaps and emerging needs to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and evolving research and teaching demands. They collaborate closely with colleagues across Collections, Academic Engagement, and other Libraries and campus units to support decision-making and advance sustainable collection strategies.

**Position Summary:**

This position directs the day-to-day management of farm operations, encompassing planting, irrigation, and harvesting to provide essential research support for the stone fruit and pecan research projects at the USDA-ARS Fruit and Tree Nut research Lab located at Byron, GA. The incumbent will manage the various phases of the research projects by performing largely independent farming duties within pecan and peach orchard settings. Key technical duties include the operation of farm tractors (greater than or equal to 50 horsepower) with associated implements/attachments and other heavy equipment, pesticide sprayer calibration and application, mowing, planting, and harvesting, and equipment repair. The role involves coordination and collaboration with faculty and project leaders on the design and implementation of field experiments. This position will modify and execute field experiments to maintain the uniform conditions of the research study. Specific technical management tasks involve scouting orchards for disease and pest issues, monitoring plant and soil nutrient levels, managing applications and pesticide planning, and maintaining and monitoring irrigation systems. The incumbent will be responsible for creating detailed schedules for planting, irrigation, spraying, fertilizing, pruning, training, and planting orchards. **Position Summary:**

Unraveling the Oceanographic Drivers of Marine Biodiversity and Invasion Risk This project investigates a central question in marine ecology and biogeography: How do ocean currents and life history traits interact to shape species’ geographic boundaries, connectivity, and capacity to invade new habitats? Marine organisms with planktonic larvae disperse across vast and dynamic seascapes, and the interaction between their life histories and coastal ocean circulation determines where species can establish, persist, or fail to invade. Despite its ecological and conservation relevance, the mechanistic understanding of these processes remains limited. This interdisciplinary project combines ecology, oceanography, and computational modeling to quantify the forces that maintain or shift marine species boundaries across the world’s coastlines. Specifically, the project will address three key questions: 1. What oceanographic and biological factors drive the origin and location of biogeographic boundaries? 2. How connected are coastal populations across spatial and temporal scales? 3. Which coastlines are most susceptible to marine species invasions under current and future oceanographic regimes? The postdoctoral fellow will play a central role in developing a global database of species’ range boundaries and larval traits (e.g., planktonic duration, spawning season, depth preferences), drawing from public repositories such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and Smithsonian databases, as well as the scientific literature. These biological data will be integrated with high-resolution physical oceanographic models, developed in collaboration with my close physical oceanographer colleague Dr. Jamie Pringle (University of New Hampshire), to simulate larval transport under varying current regimes. Simulations will test hypotheses about larval delivery, retention, and exposure to “physical adversity” — oceanographic conditions that limit successful colonization. Performance Benchmarks:

**Position Summary:**

This position reports to the Creative Director and contributes to the visual identity for all of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). The role works closely with other Creative Design Specialists within the Development and Alumni Relations Communications department (DARCOMM).

This position provides graphic design for clients and units within DAR. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, consulting with clients and developing and implementing designs through multiple communication mediums (e.g., web, social media platforms, digital advertising, signage, promotional marks, promotional merchandise, and print products such as mailers, invitations, and magazines). **Duties/Responsibilities:**

**Creative Design and Project Execution**

- Develop and deliver high-quality design solutions for units within the division, working collaboratively with the creative director, communications coordinators, digital strategists, and content writers.

- Contribute to design strategy for publications, websites, and social media.

- Manage visual identity and use of trademarked university assets, keeping projects in alignment with both individual campaign and university brand guidelines.

- Contribute to the creative development of assigned projects in kickoff meetings with relevant units and collaborative brainstorming sessions by developing creative briefs and delivering formal presentations.

- Exercise independence in design execution and demonstrate a sense of ownership in assigned projects.

- Follow DARCOMM’s workflow processes and leverage the project management system to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

- Collaborate proactively with the assigned Communications Coordinator to manage project timelines and ensure unit needs are met.

- Understand and adhere to deadlines. If a deadline is missed, communicate in advance with the appropriate parties.

- Keep interested DARCOMM partners informed about projects on a regular basis.

- Provide clear communication to partners within units regarding creative vision and strategy.

- Present high-profile design projects to DARCOMM as well as clients, articulating rationale for design.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and support unit goals.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**

- Engage in regularly scheduled DARCOMM staff meetings to discuss updates, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration.

- Collaborate with creative team members on a regular basis to work on division and university-wide projects, including campaign initiatives.

- Build relationships with DARCOMM and DAR colleagues to collaborate on projects and develop creative solutions for our division.

- For division-wide and special projects, contribute to creative process, including concept meetings, team brainstorming, and presentations.

- Contribute to and lead content ideation and development in certain projects.

- Collaborate with a student design assistant as needed. This may include assigning projects, providing quality control oversight on their work, providing constructive feedback for growth, and facilitating collaboration with other DARCOMM teammates.

**Vendor Coordination, Production, & Technical Expertise**

- Lead production for print and branded merchandise projects, including vendor selection, spec sheet, estimations, proofing, and press checks when necessary.

- Stay up to date on print standards, practices, techniques, and industry trends. Meet with print vendors, assess printer capabilities, and visit print facilities as needed to support that goal.

- Coordinate with external vendors, printers, and packaging manufacturers to ensure a high standard of quality.
